Parent and family initiatives
MAKE A LASTING IMPACTHelp the university provide impactful resources and opportunities for students.
Parents and families are crucial to VCU’s success
As a VCU parent, you know how much it means to support our students.
When you give to the VCU Family Fund, you’re continuing that tradition by funding student advocacy programs, students in need of emergency assistance, student leadership programs and the VCU Internship Funding Program.
Want to make an even bigger impact? Join us in the Family Leadership Circle with a $1,000+ gift. You’ll connect with other amazing families and help shape the VCU experience, all while staying connected to campus in meaningful ways.
Ways to get involved as parents and families
You can join the VCU Family Leadership Circle with a $1,000 annual gift to the VCU Family Fund. As a member, you’ll get to know other highly engaged VCU families, have future-focused conversations and programs with university senior leaders, spend more time with students and make a lasting impact on VCU.
You can also benefit from:
- Access to annual programming and engagement opportunities
- An invitation to apply to the Family Leadership Board
- Informational gatherings and social receptions
- Exclusive opportunities for family events with university senior leadership
- Reception and reserved seating for your student’s Commencement
The VCU Parent Leadership and Advisory Council plays a vital role in supporting the university by providing philanthropic support, advocating to prospective students and families, hosting engagement opportunities with university leadership and alumni and attending meetings throughout the year to share strategic insights and feedback on parent and family initiatives.
By joining the council, you can help enrich the student experience, strengthen the university’s public face and reinforce connections in VCU's parent and family community.
To learn more about this volunteer opportunity, email Josh Leidy, director, affinity programs.
The VCU Family Council is a group of volunteer parents and family members who advise the university on family programs and services as well as matters that impact students. You can advocate for students and families on a variety of initiatives and foster communication between VCU families and administrators. You can also play a hands-on role in bringing family-focused events and initiatives to life.
Applications for the VCU Family Council are open from June to August.
