Amari Jackson (B.S.’22) lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, and works for the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Reshunda Mahone, Ed.D. (Ed.D.’21), joined North Carolina State University as associate vice chancellor for alumni engagement and annual giving. She previously served as assistant dean for advancement and alumni engagement for the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. Mahone will oversee a newly integrated alumni engagement and annual giving team responsible for engaging the university’s alumni in mutually rewarding long-term relationships. She will also serve as executive director of the NC State Alumni Association, with responsibility for coordinating the association’s activities and its relationship with the alumni association’s board of directors.

Camryn Stotesberry (B.S.’23) is applying to medical schools and published a paper in 2023 on multiple sclerosis. She works as a patient care technician in the acute neuroscience unit at VCU Health.

Colin Burch (M.U.R.P.’16, Cert.’16) earned a Master of Public Administration from Cornell University.

Nejla Cohen (B.S.’12) is the owner and operator of 54321 Travel LLC, an online-based travel agency.

Lashelle Johnson (M.P.A.’17, B.A.’13) was promoted to senior director, state climate and equity policy at the League of Conservation Voters. At LCV, she works with 30-plus state advocacy organizations to develop and implement equitable and just clean energy policies across the nation.

Anthony Henderson Sr. (M.S.’04) was appointed deputy director of Yale University athletics. 

William Norton, Pharm.D. (B.S.’19, Pharm.D.’23), and Rachel Neller (B.S.’20) were married Feb. 24, 2024, in Amelia, Virginia.

Barrett W.R. Peters, D.D.S. (D.D.S.’11, M.S.D.’13, Cert.’13/D, Cert.’25, M.P.I.’25), received an Executive Certificate in Leadership from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management in December 2022.

Melissa Rooney (M.S.’18) founded The Bright Side Coaching, a Richmond, Virginia-based financial coaching company that helps people save, invest and build wealth.

Seth Schipinski (Cert.’19) was hired as a resident physician at ECU Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina.

Robert Staton (M.S.W.’14) is a licensed clinical social worker in New York and Virginia and is certified as a school social work specialist and a clinical trauma professional. He also holds a license to practice school social work in Virginia and New York, where he has a permanent certificate.

David M. Bailey (B.M.’05) received a 2022 Tom Locke Innovative Leader Award from Wesleyan Investive. The award recognizes leaders who exemplify innovative spiritual leadership and missionally driven entrepreneurship across the Wesleyan ecosystem of the spiritual landscape. Each recipient receives $50,000, to be used at their discretion, to further steward their growing leadership and innovative potential. Bailey is a public theologian and founder and chief vision officer of Arrabon in Richmond, Virginia, which helps leaders build reconciling communities. 

Jacquelyn Claude (B.S.’02) in October 2022 was selected to receive the President’s Award from the Nursing Organization of Veterans Affairs.

Steven McDonnough (B.S.’09) in 2022 established ProFarms Gateway as a 501(c)3 agri-ecotourism-focused international charitable organization in Richmond, Virginia. It also has operations in Ghana. The organization provides regenerative agriculture, hospitality and climate-smart skills as well as development training to rural youth and women, with an emphasis on alternative livestock-feed production and resort management. 

Morgan McDowell, D.N.P. (B.S.’09) graduated in May 2022 from the University of Virginia School of Nursing with her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree.

Kim McQuillen (M.F.A.’01) graduated from VCU in 2025 with an M.Ed. in adult learning/instructional design. She is a program manager, training and communications, at VCU's Audit and Compliance Services.

Kellie Rose, Pharm.D. (Pharm.D.’09), works for the Department of Veterans Affairs’ MidSouth Healthcare Network as a pain management, opioid safety and prescription drug monitoring program manager, covering VA facilities in Tennessee and Kentucky. She practices in the telepain program with a focus on veterans with chronic pain and substance use disorders. She also serves as co-chair of the clinical pharmacy program office’s pain management subject matter expert workgroup.

Joe Rudisill (M.H.A.’08) was promoted to CEO at HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital. He was previously CEO at HCA Florida Englewood Hospital.

Kilian Garvey, Ph.D. (B.A.’91), earned tenure at the University of Rio Grande and was promoted to associate professor in the Department of Psychology.

Mary Heller (B.A.’99) is finishing a second master’s degree, a Master of Science in Learning Design and Technology from Purdue Global. Heller’s been an instructional designer for 20 years.

Leah Hollon, N.D. (B.S.’97, M.P.H.’03), published “Unwinding the Imprints of Disease: Transforming Intergenerational and Transgenerational Trauma.”

Mills Jones (M.S.W.’96) has been elected chair of the State Local Advisory Team for children’s services. As chair, he represents SLAT on the State Executive Council for Children’s Services, which develops policies for the funding of foster care, mental health and special education in Virginia.

Linda King (B.S.’94) spoke at the Academy of General Dentistry’s meeting in Las Vegas. She also has served as the president of Georgia Dental Association's Northern District Dental Society. In 2021, she attained her lifelong service recognition from the AGD.

Rebecca Swan, M.D. (M.D.’90), is the William Long Director in Pediatric Medical Education and vice chair for education in the Department of Pediatrics as well as the assistant dean for graduate medical education at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She and her husband, Michael, a urogynecologist, have two adult children.

Hilaire Thompson, Ph.D. (M.S.’96, Cert.’98), was named executive dean of the School of Nursing at the University of Washington.

Christopher Tignor (M.B.A.’98) started as customer security officer for Microsoft Corp. in Redmond, Washington.

Steven Wells (B.A.’92) joined the V Foundation as director of events technology.

Randy Ferrance, M.D. (M.D.’88, H.S.’02), was promoted to regional medical officer with InnovAge PACE. Ferrance is responsible for clinical operations for InnovAge’s Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly in the Eastern Region, which consists of Pennsylvania, Virginia and Florida. Ferrance previously served as the area medical director for Virginia.

Siobhan Harlow (B.S.’87) retired in December 2023 after 30 years at Confluence Health.

Lyman (M.S.W.’82) retired in 2020 from the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families after 36 years in child welfare. He enjoyed his time as a casework supervisor II, overseeing caseworkers working in direct services and child protective services.

Lynn Burton (Cert.’74, B.G.S.’85) has enjoyed a 42-year-career in Richmond, Virginia, including 12 years at VCU Medical Center.

Gene Erb, Pharm.D. (B.S.’76), a co-founder of the Free Clinic of Central Virginia, received the Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities’ 2023 humanitarian award. The award is given for lifetime community volunteerism
